To create a booming renewable energy industry in Indiana, that will revitalize rural communities, create thousands of jobs, improve our environmental quality and diversify our energy supply.
Indiana is blessed with vast wind and biomass resources. According to a January 2006 study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, wind alone could generate as much as 40,000 Megawatts of energy in Indiana, more than twice the total energy production capacity of our state today.
We are Indiana farmers, elected officials, construction firms, developers, energy advocates, concerned citizens, and construction workers.
Our founding members include the White Construction (one of the nation’s largest erectors of wind turbine towers), Orion Energy LLC, Environmental Law & Policy Center, enXco Inc, Citizens Action Coalition of Indiana, Hoosier Environmental Council, and Invenergy.
For a brief description of our coalition's mission, objectives and pursuits, download this factsheet; for a fuller description, view one of our recent presentations (in PDF format).
